Honor V10 Said to Launch in India in January

Aiming to take on OnePlus 5T, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is said to bring its bezel-less V10 smartphone with an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled chipset – the first from Honor – to India in January, industry sources told IANS.

The Honor V10 will launch in the China market on Tuesday, while the global launch of V10 is scheduled for an event in London on December 5. Honor has already revealed the smartphone would have a dual rear camera setup and AI-based features.

As per IANS, the V10 will sport 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage, apart from will feature a dual rear camera setup (16-megapixel and 20-megapixel) with a wide aperture range from f/0.95 to f/16 and a 13MP front shooter.

The smartphone is said to sport a 5.99-inch bezel-less display with a full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) resolution. The Honor V10 is also said to house a 3750mAh battery and will have new EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

The Honor V10, for which the price is yet to be announced, will run the HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC – Honor’s first SoC with a neural processing unit (NPU) meant for AI tasks. The V10 will be available on either Amazon or Flipkart, the sources said.

The December 5 event will also see the launch of Honor 7X, the successor to the Honor 6X. Launched in China in October, the Honor 7X has a 5.93-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) curved display featuring a 18:9 screen ratio support and minimal bezels in a unibody metal form factor.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Honor 7X runs Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.1. It is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC (4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.36GHz + 4 x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz) coupled with 4GB of RAM and houses a 3340mAh battery. The company has pushed the fingerprint scanner to the back side. The Honor 7X features a duo of 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear cameras, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Honor 7X comes in three storage variants: 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. These variants all support expandable storage via microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. The Honor 7X supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS / GLONASS connectivity features.
