A written examination for recruitment into the Indian Army was conducted in Jammu and Kashmir and more than 3,000 youth appeared for the same. The exam was conducted for commissioned officers in the Army on Sunday.
“The examination was conducted today in which more than 3,000 youth from the state, including 800 from the valley appeared,” a Defence spokesman said. He said the number of candidates from the valley appearing for the examination was nearly twice than the corresponding year.
Selection process
The examination was conducted at Srinagar and Udhampur centres, the spokesman said. “Territorial Army, known as ‘The Citizens Army’, is a platform through which any Indian employed citizen can enroll and render service towards the nation. To get selected as an officer, the individual needs to clear a written exam followed by an interview,” he said.
