NATIONAL Geographic have created a puzzle which is leaving people perplexed as they can’t figure out which direction the bus is going.
It’s a commonly used brain teaser which tests schoolchildren’s logic skills and the majority are able to solve it with ease.
But, it’s a completely different case for adults, as many struggle to identify which direction the bus is travelling in.
The teaser, created by National Geographic, shows a yellow bus with identical windows, making it difficult to determine which end is the front or back.
In order to solve the tricky puzzle, participants have to work out which end of the bus has passenger doors.
The correct answer for people in Australia is the bus is travelling to the right; this is because we drive on the left hand side of the road.
However, if you’re from the US or other countries that drive on the right, the opposite would apply and the bus would be travelling left.
The popular puzzle features in an episode of the National Geographic’s Brain Games TV series and 80 per cent of children under 10 tested solved it immediately.
Although the teaser is fairly old, it’s recently popped up on social media and many adults have admitted to finding it difficult.
This is believed to be because kids are better at using visual cues and old experiences to interpret images and situations.
Research from University College London and Birkbeck, University of London revealed that kids under 12 perceive visual information differently from adults.
Adults often use various different kinds of visual information and sensory cues to form judgments, while kids use the first visual cue.
